🌿 About Our Kokedamas
What is a kokedama?
A kokedama (苔玉) is a Japanese art form where a plant's roots are wrapped in a ball of substrate and covered in moss or coconut fibre. The word literally means "moss ball." Each MORI kokedama is handmade with care — a living sculpture that brings calm, natural beauty into any space. Learn more →
Are your kokedamas handmade?
Yes, every single one. No two kokedamas are exactly alike. Each is shaped, wrapped, and tied by hand in small batches, which means yours is genuinely one of a kind.
What plants do you use?
We work with a curated selection of indoor plants suited to the kokedama format — including Anthurium, Ficus, Monstera, Olive, Orchid, and Peperomia. Each product listing tells you exactly which plant is inside.
Do they come with a pot or tray?
Kokedamas are designed to be displayed without a traditional pot. They can be placed on a small dish, tile, or hung as a suspended display.

🌱 Plant Care
How do I water a kokedama?
Kokedamas are watered by submersion, not pouring. Submerge in room-temperature water for 15–20 minutes, drain well, and return to its spot. Visit our Care Hub for the full guide.
How much light does a kokedama need?
It depends on the plant. Most prefer bright, indirect light — away from harsh direct sun. Each product listing includes specific light requirements.
Can I repot my kokedama?
Yes — as your plant grows, you may want to refresh the substrate or expand the kokedama.
